Abstract

Long COVID, or post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection (PASC), refers to a constellation of persistent symptoms following the acute phase of COVID-19. Affecting a substantial subset of patients, this condition encompasses multi-organ complications including fatigue, cognitive dysfunction, cardiovascular issues, and respiratory difficulties. This article synthesizes the latest research on the pathophysiology, epidemiology, diagnosis, and management of Long COVID, while discussing its public health, social, and economic implications. Understanding Long COVID is vital for shaping future health care policy, rehabilitation strategies, and pandemic preparedness.
