Abstract

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) remain one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. In Pakistan, CVD prevalence is increasing at an alarming rate, largely due to unhealthy lifestyle choices and inadequate dietary habits. Nutrition plays a pivotal role in the prevention of CVDs through both direct and indirect mechanisms, such as controlling cholesterol levels, reducing inflammation, and improving blood vessel health. This article explores the relationship between nutrition and cardiovascular health, providing insights into dietary patterns and specific nutrients that can prevent or mitigate the risk of heart disease. It highlights public health strategies for encouraging healthy eating habits in Pakistan's population.
