Abstract

Gene editing has emerged as one of the most revolutionary advancements in genetic research and biotechnology. With technologies like CRISPR-Cas9, scientists now have the ability to directly modify the DNA of living organisms, offering unprecedented opportunities for the treatment of genetic disorders. This article explores the potential of gene editing in treating a wide range of genetic disorders, such as sickle cell anemia, cystic fibrosis, and muscular dystrophy. We discuss the science behind gene editing techniques, the ethical implications, and their current and future applications in clinical settings. Additionally, the article examines the challenges and risks associated with gene editing, as well as the regulatory frameworks that are being developed globally to ensure its safe and responsible use.
