Physical activity (PA) is widely recognized for its positive effects on physical health; however, its role in enhancing mental well-being is increasingly coming into focus. Mental well-being encompasses emotional, psychological, and social dimensions, and its promotion has become a critical public health issue. This article explores the impact of physical activity on the mental well-being of adults, highlighting the mechanisms by which PA influences mood, cognitive function, and overall mental health. Furthermore, we review existing research on the benefits of different types of physical activity, the challenges in promoting regular exercise, and the implications for mental health policies in Pakistan. The article concludes with a call for targeted interventions to integrate physical activity into mental health care strategies.
